What's On at Allsail

Good News - Club Sailing is back on at Allsail

With the further relaxing of Covid restrictions in NSW we have received advice from NSW Maritime that all recreational boating is now permitted – including charters with overnight stays.

So Allsail has resumed normal club sailing operations from Friday the 22nd of May.

You don’t have to Stay Home – It’s now Stay Safe and Go Sailing!

In line with the latest Covid 19 Public Health Order there are some restrictions:

  • The skipper must ensure there is 4 square metres of space for each person on board
  • Participants not from the same household must maintain social distancing (the 1.5 metre rule).
  • Participants must ensure they practice good hygiene.
  • If any of your party have been in contact with someone  who has or is suspected of having Covid 19  - or is even slightly unwell  - then they must NOT come sailing.

To ensure compliance we have instituted the following on Allsail yachts.

  • We have determined recommended maximum numbers of crew on each of our yachts to satisfy the 4 square metre rule.
  • All cockpits and deck areas are marked with red crosses showing indicative 1.5 metre separations for guidance of skippers and crew to maintain social distancing - if not of the same household.
  • Cleaning solutions and wipes and hand sanitiser are available on each vessel -  vessels  are cleaned between uses.
  • We ask that members and students always wearing sailing gloves whilst handling equipment (eg winch handles, cleats and lines) and bring your own sanitiser and wipes to be sure.

Crews will need to assist in some basic wiping down of used surfaces at the end of club sails and also be familiar with the Covid 19 guidelines now included in each yacht’s Safety Management System Document.

Winter Sailing Schedule

Fridays 11am – 3 hour club cruising and training session.

(RMYC Twilight racing likely to resume in July - waiting on club advice)

Saturdays 11am – RPAYC racing mostly on Another Challenge (Sydney 38) - for Silver PLUS members and some guests.

The popular Lion Island series in June then the Winter series

Sundays 11am – 3 hour club cruising and training session

Wednesday afternoons – Subject to demand we are also planning to compete in some RPAYC Wednesday afternoon series races from mid June.

We’ll likely be Sailing with Smaller Crews

Social distancing is probably with us for some time - so for racing and club sailing crews of 4 to 6 maximum are probably going to be the norm. Crews from same households may mean greater numbers

So as a club we must respond to the new normal and are looking to make Another Challenge easier by addition of a main boom bag and maybe even mods so she can easily run an asymmetrical spinnaker.

Booking your Sail

With the changed sailing environment we really need to plan each session so that we have enough skippers/ instructors and boats – so to book your spot please ensure you call us at least 3 days in advance. We may not be able to confirm last minute bookings.

So call us and make your first booking NOW!

Charter Sailing is now back on at Allsail

With the further relaxing of Covid restrictions in NSW we have received advice from NSW Maritime that all recreational boating is now permitted – including overnight stays on charter yachts.

You don’t have to Stay Home – It’s now Stay Safe and Go Sailing!

Winter Sailing is great on Pittwater and Broken Bay with less yachts on the water and plenty of moorings available for overnight stays. Just pop on that extra layer and enjoy the constant winds and winter sunshine.

And Winter rates are around 20% below Summer Charter rates.

In line with the latest Covid 19 Public Health Order  there are some restrictions when sailing on our larger cruising yachts relating to social distancing.

But we have yachts ready for you throughout June and into July/ August on - and its a lot less crowded on the water with moorings readily available

Why not treat family and friends to a fabulous sailing time on Sydneys best kept secret waterways - Pittwater, Broken Bay and Cowan Creek.

And ask about our early board Friday for weekend charters.

Check out the Charter section for information, the great rates and details on each yacht.

And you can book with confidence as rescheduling of charters at no fee is usually OK if you have a health problem or government directives prevent you from sailing.

Allsail History

Allsail was started in 1989 by Mike De Berg as a sail training club to satisfy the sailing needs of adult sailors and would be sailors who didn't have a boat, had had a boat and could never get crew - or were just looking fo a social environment of like minded people who had a passion for the sea.
